Can't for the life of me see how to contact a classifieds poster, and there doesn't seem to be any way to post on the ad itself any longer. What am I missing?

You can't directly at the moment. They have been busted again by a site update. Normally on the advert page there is a message icon that launches the pm window. For now you will need to goto their forum profile and message from there. Easiest way is to goto your profile from the account icon top right then edit the URL to replace your username with theirs.

Click the name of the poster and message them.

It's stupid!

Posting on the add was removed ages ago. It was a crap feature anyway as it relied in the owner checking back.

Think that is broken as well.

that's the bit that doesn't seem to work..

[Mod] unfortunately there are some issues with Classifieds and they're currently being investigated.  We apologise for the inconvenience.

Is this where someone points out that the old classifieds was better?

I certainly spent a lot more money when it was just text (and somehow easier to use)

Yeah, the old way was far superior in my experience. Much more ads as well.

Just put stuff on Pinkbike or FB marketplace. It works and it's busy.

Even when I did successfully work the classifieds on here (after dozens of failed attempts at uploading images) I had almost zero views. It all sold elsewhere with no grief whatsoever.

This. STW is the last place I'd advertise bike parts these days. Think I tried a few months back and it didn't work (and was a last resort anyway).

I’d forgotten STW even had a classified section.

Not good if you've paid for an ad

I suspect they have as well.

No shame in admitting it hasn't worked and reverting to the old style Classifieds with the incoming new site.

Well, I bought something from the Classified section and it hasn't shown up.

This glitch might explain why the seller hasn't replied to my messages.

Ideas anyone?

Yes, I think it’s kinda against the rules, but given that the tool is broken and many people have paid to post up their ads, I would hope the moderator would see sense.

^^ I reported the posts to moderator so they may jump in and help you offline, not sure how that works.

iainc....once again, thank you.

I'll wait and see if a moderator chips in or makes contact.

Failing that, an @ post on here it will be.

mod - we are working on a temporary fix for this. Please do NOT start paging posts on the forum, we will be in touch once we’ve sorted it.

There’s a thread ‘stuck’ at the top of the forum for any issues, probably means that.

edit here https://singletrackmag.com/forum/topic/notice-stw-any-issues/

Though, there’s an issue with goods not arriving that you’ve paid for, can you not raise a case with PayPal?

mod and tomhoward....thanks.

tomhoward....I paid by bank transfer, not PayPal.

I know.

The seller had some history in here, so I trusted him. I hope that's not a mistake and that there's a good reason for the item not turning up

Once bitten, lesson learned, etc.

If classified is being sorted, worth mentioned when trying to select it on iPhone (multiple iPhones) via the three line menu option, as in the landing page or whatever from the left hand menu, I can’t scroll far enough because of pop ups / footers you can’t shut down, to actually press classified from the menu and go to that page. Quite a design fault. Not sure if I explained that well but hopefully someone gets the idea.

How long are we talking, is it coming far? Especially with the bank hols and the inclement weather of late, could be lots of reasons it’s not arrived.

How long? 16th December the stuff was paid for and confirmed money received.

Where from? I assume UK, but don't actually know.
