Hi All,

I am thinking about getting some new bars and would like about the same rise but just a bit wider. How do I measure the rise of my current bars?

Cheers

Do you know what the current bars are?

They are Ritchey WCS Carbon. I can find a 660mm version on Wiggle that states a 15mm rise and they look about the same but I wondered if there was a way to check.

I would take it off, lay it on a bit of paper big enough and start plotting points! You want a point for the center of the bar and one for the top of the rise. Should give you a good idea. But then there is the sweep of a bar. No idea how to measure that!

You can always alter the height of the bar by adding or reducing spacers.

It's the centre of the clamp section to the centre of the hand grip section before any angles are taken into account.

Should be printed on the bars, either under the stem face plate or where the grips are fitted, may have worn off obviously.

Take your bars off. Take them to a shop and compare to the ones you want to buy.

Turn your bike upside down and measure how far the stem is off the ground.
