You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I slammed straight into a rut yesterday and got catapulted over the bars. It was a heavy impact for the frame and fork to take square on and now I’m not sure if they are bent backwards or not.
Once I got back on the bike the forks felt slightly taller and the head angle seemed steeper. This might be my imagination.
Is there a way to check either are bent?
Frame is Pace RC627
Fork is Fox 36 ebike version
I took the fork off and laid it flat on a table. Then I used a spirit level to check the steerer, stanchions, and legs where all inline, which they were. This is all I could think of beyond buying the same frame and fork and putting them side by side.
STW please advise
Is there any sign of the paint falling off around the top tube/downtube?
I very much dought that you've bent a 36 ebike fork and lived to ask the question.
You'll usually get paint cracks as a tell tail. TBH MTB's are exceptionally strong, and I doubt it's bent. More likely to pringle a wheel first.
PS instead of 'how's the bike', how are you ? - superman impressions are painful.
I’m ok, bruised ribs, sore neck, and probably a bit of concussion. I did see a lot of stars, it was like a cartoon.
I haven’t checked the frame too closely yet only the forks.
I've bent two frames like that, both had noticeable bulges under the downtube at the joint with the head. No gussets on either though, I also think it's unlikely an OTB would bend a modern mountain bike frame.

and probably a bit of concussion.
After reading a recent thread on here about that, it might be worth getting checked out bud.👍
