any weather report cannot be trusted totally beyond two days due to the chaotic behaviour of weather systems. that said if they know the weather system is coming from a particular direction its easy to determine the temperatures we might encounter.
How Accurate is metcheck?
Not very IMHO.
Much prefer to use the MET office website.

It's about as accurate as astrology, like all weather forecasts

I use accuweather UK / BBC and is usually a bit more spot on 🙂
Reckon Metcheck OK for a couple of days out but then can be wildly inaccurate from experience; best bet I`ve found is look at Met Office + MWIS + synoptic maps and go for a consensus view, and tehn treat with care! Although some weather patterns are better forecast than others and teh forecast developing high in central atlantic, which will pull down Ntherly winds, probably has a higher forecast certainty than tracking depression tracks across UK, position of which can greatly affect wind directions and rainfalls

I usually have a look at Metcheck to see how wildly innacurate they can be.
it's metcheck that does 200mph winds every now & then isn't it ? (maybe only on the longer ranges IIRC)

ie the one not goosed by all the climate change assumptions
I find metcheck a lot more accurate than BBC, but not perfect
R4 are supposed to be doing a experiment to actually see who is the most accurate
alternatively 80% + of the time the weather tomorrow is the same as today

http://yr.no is a good weather website. Based in Norway, but good coverage for the UK - presumably using different data (albeit of the same weather systems) to the UK's met office.
It's actually pretty good for Cornwall, not bad considering it's a tiny narrow strip of land
I use http://www.wetterzentrale.de/topkarten/fsavneur.html which is a german weather forecast, only prob is it is all in german. It is really good for a more longer term forcast however as said above unless it is really obvious they are never goin to terribly right for anything more than a couple of days in advance.
Some years ago (approx. around 2004), when i was very much into winter climbing, all the major channels were reporting heavy snowfall predictions in that November made by Metcheck. I sharpened the axes and crampons in anticiption, only for it to be a complete load of tripe. I've never forgiven him/them for it. Was glad to hear of him being conviced a few years ago and i've never experienced many people say good things about Metcheck forecasts since. My opinion is skewed in the -ve, but I wouln't give them the time of day. Stick with Metoffice, MWIS (mountains), XC weather (wind speeds), weatherline (specifically the Lake District) and the BBC, they are all effectively Metoffice forecasts, but with some local slight variations, more detail and/or specialist for specific sports.
