Evening all off to morzine again this year but doing a stopover in Reims,It's just for an overnight stay preferably with bike storage or allow bikes in the room. Your suggestions please, thanks in advance
DB
And it's for a family of four if that helps, cheers Ian
Did this on the way back from snowboarding a few weeks ago. Stopped at Ibis Cathedrale, it was perfect - very close to the main road, very short walk to the cathedral and the square with lots of nice restaurants. Our room was a decent double and a double sofa bed so provided kids are happy with that it will be perfect. Can't remember how much we paid but it was very good value, and included continental breakfast which was ideal.
Tip - don't bother parking in their carpark, there's a decent one right across the road from the hotel and if your timing works out ok you won't even have to pay for it.
Sorry, just noticed the bit about the bikes - no idea as we weren't with bikes, but there's no way you'd have fitted 4 in the room we had!
2 rooms in a Formula 1 and sneak the bikes in? Cheap as chips and given that most folks are taking hookers in they won't worry about a few bikes.
The Reims one is just off the autoroute and we've stayed there on way to Alps.
Mercure Reims Centre Cathédrale. We stayed there on the way to skiing a couple of years ago. Secure underground car park, good location.
F1 always let you keep bikes in your room. Never a problem.
weve stayed at the Ibis Budget hotel here

inexpensive, dont expect much special for breakfast, but there's "franchise" restaurants just a few hundred metres away for dinner.
Its a compound car park, but not massively secure. No idea if you could put bieks in rooms but if theyre clean I dont see why not, the rooms are big.
The rooms are double beds, with a single bunk flying over the top. Bit annoying for a family of four as we had to split into 2x rooms, but I think we got the second room at a discount.
Clean, comfortable, quiet though.
I have stopped off in the Ibis in Troyes and there is a car park under the hotel where i have kept the bikes in the car.
I don't mind leaving the kid's bikes chained up, but bit hesitant leaving my capra in the car
+1 for f1. Right by the motorway, take whatever you like into the room. The rooms are Small though. If McDonald's did hotels. It's just somewhere to stop, sleep then get going again. The grand prix circuit is worth a drive by on the way in or out.
It's a bit further up the road, and town centre, not right next to the autoroute, but the ibis budget in St Quentin has an enclosed car park. There were loads of British cars in it with bikes on when we stayed. Happily left our bikes on the car there.

From memory, only the hotel staff can open it.
Think the rooms only fit 3 though....
Have a look at Logis - generally small family run hotels with a decent simple restaurant link
I have stayed in F1's a number of times too, functional and a bit of an experience for the kids 😉
As a bit of a wildcard you could look for B&B's on Alasdair Scwdays website, usually very nice and interesting places - a bit more money but not daft - usually safe enough locations to leave bikes in the car or they have lockable storage depending upon property. We have never stayed as far North as Reims but have stayed little North of Dijon in a vey nice place called Carpe Diem
Cheers for the help peeps, will get the wife involved later on.
