Racing around the stone / all weather Ashton Court trails I normally use Small Block 8's. I did read they can be prone to let go suddenly when really pushed and the front one did.
Is there an alternative? I've also used sh*gged High Rollers which are OK, any alternatives???????????

Tyres, you know the black rubbery things that stop rims making a grating noise on the road.....

I really like the small block, but not on the front, no. It's basically just how much grip you want and how much drag you're happy to have. I like a big, grippy front tyre but others would say it's too slow.

Maxxis Ardent I suppose? Basically 1 step up the grippiness spectrum from the smallblock, without giving away too much speed. Much better in the wet too, not as cloggy. Still not an especially grippy tyre but might strike the balance you're after.
