These rims seem a bit narrower (23mm internal/28mm external) than most 'trail' models heading more to 25mm or 30mm. Not sure if the standard measurement other manufacturers give is internal or external?
What is the widest tyre you can go to on the Hope Enduros - would a Magic Mary 2.6 work?
A mate is running his with Maxxis DHR2 rear & DHF front at 2.6".
Doesn't have any issues with them.
I saw an Instagram post recently where some one was running 2.5 MSC Tyres Gripper on the front of theirs.
Got a 2.5 DHF on mine, runs pretty nicely
Thanks chaps.
Hope tech wheels actually measure up slightly wider than there 23mm inner and more importantly scwalbe measure up wider than maxxis so a 2.5 maxxis will be fine and a 2.3 scwalbe will be very similar to the 2.5 maxxis.
The rims are also soft so don't run too low psi and as they have a Grove either side of the inner rim stans tape can lift so I use gorrilla tape on hope tech wheels as it conforms over the ridges better
Thank you. Hunts seem to be well regarded.
I should have mentioned I'm running 100 front 135/QR rear at the moment with a view to going 142/12 rear with a new frame. Most wheels seem to come with inserts to move to 142/12 but don't find it clear if Hunts do 135 with the inserts to 142 so dropped them a mail.
Thanks again
Apologies, my response above was supposed to be made in another thread!
Just spoke to Hope and they confirmed the new Fortus range will be out in two weeks.
Increasing the 23mm Enduro to 26mm and a new 35mm coming too but shame the potentially best trail size 30mm only comes in the heavyweight reinforced DH version...
