I have 2 Hope XD freehubs. One is in a Pro 2 Evo non boost, one was in a Pro 4 boost. They look exactly the same and both fit my Pro2 evo. I don't have the pro 4 any more to try them both in that.

I thought Pro 2 Evo and Pro 4 used different freehubs? Is what I am talking about even possible??? Do I need a darkened room with rubber wall-paper?

I am trying to sell a collection of freehubs and am trying to work out what's what!

I think they can share freehubs, I asked about the microspline for pro2evo and was told they were the same, even the 34t and 40t hub bodies.

The only ones you cant swap are the 11s road freehubs, although I wonder if you could and risk the clearance on some cassettes.

A Pro2 non-Evo won't work in a Pro4 as the pawls don't reach the ratchets.

The Pro2 can be converted to Evo with the Evo axle and changing all the bearings in the shell and freehub.

There are different part numbers between Pro2 Evo and Pro4 freehubs.

Not the same.

Teethgrinder is correct. Pro4 uses different barrel too pro2.

But how about pro 2 evo - does that use the same freehub as pro 4?

I’m confused about how I managed to take a freehub out of a pro 4 and put it in a pro 2 evo!!

Nope. Pro4 and Pro2 Evo are different. E.g. microspline freehubs

Pro2 Evo HUB546

PRO4 HUB545

Then either 10, 12, qr depending on the end cap for the axle

Interesting point though- they’re different but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re not interchangeable. I.e the pro2 has three bearings in the freehub and the pro4 2, but the external dimensions could be identical.

Might have to do some measuring

I've only got pro 4 hubs from hope now but I'm going to follow this just out if curiosity.

I can guarantee Pro2 won't fit a Pro4 as it's too small.

I can guarantee you can convert Pro2 to Pro2 Evo.

Therefore you can't use Pro2 Evo on Pro4 and vice versa.

Fair point, is it the diameter of the pawl seat that’s different? I’d assumed they wouldn’t fit but never actually measured it.

OP- isn’t the easy way to tell pro2 from pro4 that pro 2 freehubs are gold and pro4 are silver?

Are we all certain that charliemort is sure
that he does indeed have a Pro4?

Strange things are afoot at the Circle K ...

I'm sure this isn't possible, too. But, given I have a Pro evo 2 sitting on the shed floor and a Pro 4 i was intending to service this weekend I might be tempted to double-check.

... hang on, is this some kind of May's Fool joke?
