I stripped my sisters hope xc rear hub last night so i can replace the bearings. when i got one out i measured it with a caliper at 28mm outer 15mm inner and 7mm wide. looking on the hope tech site and chain reaction they say the hub uses 4x 6001 bearings which when entered into the search on simplybearings.co.uk comes back with bearings measuring 28mm outer 12mm inner and 7mm or 8mm wide.
I double checked my measurement this morning so i'm confident they are 15mm inner races.
After speaking to hope i'm no wiser as the bloke could only tell me that they are 6001 and not the inner diameter.
Can any one shed any light before i go and fetch some?
Thanks
Andy
The std bearings are 6001 2RS.
These are a unique reference for these specific size of bearings, they will fit the hub.
If you're really worried measure the axle diameter.
Are you sure its an XC hub?
Those dimensions match a 6902 bearing in a pro 2

my sister thought they were pro 2 hubs but when i took them apart and found only 3 pawls and a steel freehub (i remembered that the pro 2 has 4 and an alloy freehub). I checked hopes info and found that they are the xc's and this was confirmed by the cir-clip holding the innermost bearing in place.
Sure they're not bulbs? They are same as XC but with bigger bearings etc.
Hmmm, Maybe it's a bulb??

Are all the bearings the same size?
An XC has 4 bearings all the same size
A Bulb has 3 different sized bearings
Thanks Phil.
Looks like it is bulb hub. thanks for spotting that one.
It makes sense of the measurements i took.
Thanks again
Andy
