Having a bit of a clear out in the parts bin and realised I have a set of old Hope XC hubs that are still in good order. I’m wondering if there’s any adapters that could be safely bodged to let them be reused as the basis for a gravel wheelset?
You can’t adapt them to modern bolt through hubs I’m afraid, I have checked - I foolishly sold some XC hubs and they couldn’t be converted for my bike and now I need some more to make some wheels for my wife’s bike which needs QR hubs.
As above, the XC was the cheaper sibling to the BULB which could be converted. Having said that, the BULB predates 15 and 12mm as well as 142mm back ends so although it could be converted, it wasn't to anything current
Just in case anyone is reading this thread and wants to sell one, I need a Hope XC freehub to revive my commuter wheels (pretty please and thank you).
My gravel bike uses 9mm QR hubs.
I have a front XC converted to 15mm courtesy of @kayla1 at Bikepunx. Adaptor and compatible sized bearings came in at around £50.
My gravel bike is 9pm qr
I believe my how pro 4 s can be converted if need be
