So my Hope V4 brakes will need new pads soon

Ive always just bought more Hope organic or sintered pads as they have never let me down and im sure i read somewhere that genuine Hope pads are the best out there for their brakes

So is that true or are there better after market pads out there for the V4 caliper? (im also running Hope V4 rotors) and if so is their any test data/articles to show/prove this?

Im happy to just buy more genuine Hope pads but im also curious to what alternatives there may be out there with a proven difference in stopping power etc..

There's some new purple e-bike pads for V4's which are meant to be good.

Made by galfer, same as the organic pads - but their 'purple' compound is semi-metallic which should give the best of both worlds.

You get them in the box with new V4's.

I have in the past found discrepancies in thickness between one pad and the other on cheaper ebay pads. Branded, but branded clarks or the cheaper model brake manufacturers.

Cheers

A quick google and these popped up on ebay

Kind curious if they really are genuine given the price but they are purple, have V4 Hope by Galfer written on them but at under £6 posted seems too cheap!

They look pretty genuine, as they only come with the pad retaining clip I'd suggest they're a set that come with V4's. Full replacement pads come with a pin and spring.

Haha nice, I guessed when the listing had ended you'd jumped on them!

Deffo just the extra pads you get with the brakes, so you get 3x sets of pads now. Makes them better value!!

I'll be trying them out when I finally wear out my current pads (trying organic rear and sintered front at the moment).

A lot of what makes trickstuff brakes brilliant is their pads. The V4 uses the same pad as the Maxima. Not cheap, but worth a go?

Cool, i bought my last pair of V4's over a year ago and they came with the organic and sintered in the box, shame the E4's only come with one set of pads, Ive bought 3 sets of E4's in the last year for various bikes

Did not know that - and looks like you can only get the purple pads for V4's, not E4's.

Hmm, may go V4 on my next build in that case rather than E4.

E4's here, Galfer comp in the front and Aztec organic in the back. Shop closest to work had Aztec's when I was in need of pads and they are excellent. the Galfers have more bite so I use them in the front.
