Set up lots of rims tubeless before, Stans, Mavic etc, different tyres etc. Never had an issue. I’m careful wrapping the rim tyre is tubeless and seated well lots of sealant 90ml for a 28c tyre (I’m getting desperate!) . But it’s having none of it. Also had the same issue with done Gravel King SK’s on the sane rims both front and rear. Tape has been reapplied, bought new valves still goes flat.
What am I doing wrong??
What tape are you using? I have found 3 different brands of "tubeless" tape to be total garbage, now I just use cheap 3M duct tape and have never had tyres going flat overnight.
where is the air leaking from?
Sorry walking the dogs!
Seems to be around the head, (I’ve reseated it) and the valve which I’ve just nipped up now.
Tape I’ve tried Stans, And the Tesla take from Ebay (both wired five before) now a new stuff from the LBS.
Gone with the peaty valves as they’ve got a meatier collar and rubber grommet to aid sealing the Stans valves even with ptfe wouldn’t seal reliably
I had a bit of trouble with my 20-fives and it was down to the valves. Bought a set of muc off valves and used one of the different inserts then tightened down with Allen key/spanner and they finally sealed.
Using hope rim tape worked on the front but good old gorilla tape on the rear , with wtb nano tyres
Yeah, I’ve pinned it down to the valves. Cheers fellas.
Had the same issue with the same tyre / rim combination. Tried Stans tape to no avail and ended up trying Muc Off rim tape which worked. I felt the hope rims had too many contours which made the Stans tape, which is quite thick, harder to fit. The Muc Off tape is thinner and more pliable. I also used the Muc Off valves which required a bit more attention to ensure the rubber washer didn't distort when tightening them up. As for seating the tyre, I had to use a mate's compressor to get enough air in quickly to get the bead to seat against the rim.
I just got some valves from Ratbite, they're oilslick colour so are a bit jazzy but they have an allen key hole at the base and a decent winged locknut at the top so they can be easily screwed tight without having to get pliers involved.
