Replacing deore xt m8020 brakes with tech v4, but the caliper doesn't fit.

The rotor is a 180mm centerlock, fork is rockshox yari, hub is dt Swiss. The caliper looks like its the same as the Shimano caliper, ie flat fit mount. The hope caliper looks look it's too far outboard and fouls the disc. I've ran the hope on Shimano 200mm rotors previously with no issues, but with 6 bolt fitting and my next step is to use the same rotors with a conversion kit and see what that does.

Any other thoughts?

What mounts are you using

A picture paints a thousand words (but can take a thousand hours to post in here)

By flat mount, I hope you mean post mounts (flat mount is a road bike thing that may start to creep into mtb and make things very confusing).

Did all Yari forks have 180 post mounts?

I've fitted Hope E4 to the wife's Revelation forks and found a very slight clash. Had to fit some 0.5mm shims under the caliper just to ensure the caliper wasn't compressing the fork leg.

I can imagine this being worse with the larger pistons on the V4. Is it that proximity to the fork leg that's limiting lateral adjustment?

Hope make 6 bolt shims if you need to make the rotor closer to the fork leg to solve this.

Yep sorry, post mount is what I mean, is been a while since I've had to figure out what fits where. I'll try and load a picture up although don't hold your breath...

Not all Yari are 180mm PM. Mine are 160mm PM.

Hope say compatible with rotors from 180mm to 220mm. Could be if fitting to a 180mm PM fork you need 200mm rotors.

Clong, are your Yari 180pm or 160pm? Did you need an adaptor to run your Shimano brakes with the 180 rotors? If so, what adaptor was it and what adaptor are you trying to use know?

Ultimately, it sounds like you're trying to get 4 brands to work together. I still had to use shims when it was just Rockshox and hope. There is a possibility this may not work. I know that the spacing of some hubs has stopped people using hope hubs and brakes with hope floating rotors.

Obviously these people didnt know what shims are. We can shim up or out or up and out, and then shim the rotor over too so in fact there is nothing to prevent you putting the caliper anywhere you want it.
The only problem I ever have with any fouling is those damn bolts touching the adaptor, or on floating the 'pins' that hold rotor to carrier.

Is this conundrum of 'standards' ever going to end 😕

Sorry, I didn't mean with Hope hubs. You're right, shims normally sort that. I mean non hope hubs can cause problems with the bobbins on hope floating rotors.

As an aside, I've also seen those bobbins foul on carbon frames even with hope hubs.
