On the Hope website it looks as though they bleed the X2 Tech with the wheel/rotor in,I take it you dont have to use a spacer/wood to push against the pistons!

No, you don't. There shuold be no pressure when you bleed them, so doesn't matter if the brake is even on the bike. Do push the pistons back in tho.
