Has anyone tried removing the 88 tooth drive ring from a Hope Trials hub and fitting it to a standard Pro 4?

Is it different? The pro2 trials had the same ratchet, just two of the paws were slightly shorter.

The trials hub has 88 points of engagement = 4.1 degrees
The Pro4 MTB hub has 44 points of engagement = 8.2 degrees

But as above, that difference may or may not be down to the ratchet ring. If the pawls are slightly different lengths, they'll engage at different times. So they either have a ring with 88 teeth and all 4 pawls engage, or its the same ring but with two pairs of pawls half a phase out of sync.

The first question is which system do they use. It does say 88 tooth rather than 88 points of engagement so it could be a different ring.

The ratchet ring is the same (and they are bonded in anyway), the pawl slots in the SS/T freehub are offset.

So what you are saying is the trials hub engages quicker but with only half the pawls, dose that not impact on the strength? Or at least the wear rate.
