I was in the process of swapping over some rotors on my Pro3s and as I tightened up the bolts (using a torque wrench on 10nms) the head of one of the bolts sheared off! HELP!! Not sure whether there is a fix that I can do, an LBS job or, worse case, chop them in for another hub. Any advice???

If 6 bolts, just ignore and run with 5.

Otherwise if its the 3 bolt one, probably best just to send it back to Hope and ask them kindly.

Unless you've bottomed-out the bolt in a blind hole, the chances are that you'll be able to unscrew it fairly easily, an EZ-out (a bit like a left hand threaded tap) should do it if it's a bit tight, most garages and bike shops should have them, but it's worth having your own set as they only cost a few pounds.

Great advice - thanks. It is the 6 bolt version - will take it out tomorrow. Seeing Peaty's bolts missing on a downhill rig has given me a bit more confidence. If another goes then definitely a call to Hope.
Cheers.....

If you've sheared the head off, can't you remove the other 5, then the rotor, and then you'll be left with a bit of bolt sticking out which could be removed with Mole grips or similar?

Forget the EZ-out if it's a 6 bolt, they're a bit too small, go with the molegrips idea from druidh.

My hamfisted mate managed to shear 3 bolts on his hub, he sent it Hope and they very kindly sent him back a new hub body

Mole grips will do it.

Oh, and I beleive it's 6NM that you're supposed to torque them to, you may find the rest of your bolts are close to shearing off as well. Might be a good idea to replace them before they let go on that steep downhill that's miles from the nearest A&E 🙂

Went out before seeing the 6NM torque! Oh well - bike worked well - nice downhills and no loss of confidence. If the other bolts are too tight I might contact hope and see if I can get as lucky as Mr 5 0's mate.....
