also, anyone know where to get the tools to service the rear hub?
thanks
Jools, if you're in marple i've got the tools + seal tool.
Can easy get away with sockets as drifts.
As for bearings always use Betd/Goldtec - just ring up & ask for Dan - bearings for pro 2 hub please 😀
Katec's are good, outlasting the originals many times over ime.
^ + lots of numbers.. 😉
7 pro II bearings for 15 quid is very cheap - be a bit ropey I would guess, but if they lasted even half the time as a decent set you'd still be ahead.
Here a thought for you regarding bearing replacement in aluminium hubs.
The more times you remove and replace the more chance you have of causing premature wear to the bore the bearing is housed in.
All you need is to press it in slightly out of line and you will damage the bore!
So would it not be better to replace with a quality bearing which is going to last?
Just a thought!
Banks, I am in New Mills so not far away, thanks for the offer
Katec seem pretty reasonable price wise
I get Katec ones, because I miss Kaesae's mentality. But also because they're actually good kit and he's good to deal with (he had a mixup with bearings for my Hemlock frinstance, I told him he'd sent the wrong ones on saturday, new ones were on the doormat on monday)
katec here ,good bearings nice man
