I'm helping my friend put together a gravel bike and his wheels use Hope Pro 5 hubs, which I'm familiar with, but with centrelock brakes I'm not.
Hope sell lockrings with internal or external tightening options - apart from the different tools to tighten, is there any difference? Any advice based on experiences, etc?Â
(The discs are 160mm Shimano Ice Techs, XTR I think, if that makes a difference)
Need external for a 15mm front axle, rear can be either
Ah, perfect. Many thanks!
What STR said.
You do need to get them from the hub manufacturer as there are (at least) 2 different ways the external ones can have the 'external' lockrings. So if you're tempted away from Hope, check the thread specifications.

Yep, understood. The Hope hubs have the thread inside the hub.Â

One thing I have just thought though, I'm pretty sure the hubs in question are actually 12mm front thru axle... would that sound right for the carbon forks you'd get with a Sonder Camino Ti?
Yes that's correct
Thank you
