Need to replace the bearings soon, I was wondering if anyone has used the bearings from trailvision(blue seal) or should I go with Hope own bearings?Any info would be good.
Thanks & happy trails🤙🏻
Kinetic bearings every time
Been using Trailvision, Blue Steel, for years for all our bikes. Never had a problem.
I've just replaced the original Hope Pro2 rear hub & Freehub bearings with Blueseal. Can't comment on longevity as they've just gone in like two weeks ago. The bearings arrived quickly from Trail-vision on Ebay & all felt smooth and like they had plenty of grease inside. These were half the price of the genuine bearings so time will tell.
Personally I just use good quality bearings from a local engineering shop ( FAG or SKF IIRC). Never had an issue
How long have your current hope bearings lasted? If its years then maybe it's worth buying hope again?
If I can get the bearings out cleanly without damaging them, I sometimes pop the seals off, clean, regrease and reinstall them and see how they feel. It depends how bad they are. Usually they have just let crap past the seal and once cleaned they are fine. Just take your time and don't damage the seal.
Been doing this for my ceramic bottom bracket for about 15 years! And countless miles.
It helps if you have the specific hope tools so you don't damage them. If yiu keep up with it, they don't get seized in and destroyed when you remove them.

As above, pop out the old bearing and pop along to your nearest bearing stockist, better quality and normally around the same price as ordering online from a bike shop once you take in postage costs into consideration
Another option which i now and again is to remove the seals from the bearings, clean out all the grease and muck and see what condition the bearings are in
Think Hope use stainless steel bearings so as long as there is no pitting/ visible damage etc.. you can just regrease them and they are good to go again, done this to my Hope jockey wheels a few times
