My front hub has a slight play when I check it out of the fork - the end caps have about 1-2mm movement. There's no movement of the wheel when in the fork, axle lightly clamped.
The wheel (and bike) are a year old and have done about 2600Km on it.
Do the bearings need replacing or should I just keep an eye on it?
If you pull the end caps off is there play in the axle? Or is the play just in the end cap?
I can't feel any, that's not to say there isn't any. I'm (err) at work so will check again when I get home. I'm assuming it should be obvious?
Is it a 20mm? They have some play till bolted in, 15mm and qr shouldn't in my experience
