Thanks in advance, I think the answer is yes, but I wanted to enlist the support of the STW Massive to support or debunk this...

I have a nice pair of 26" wheels which were built up by Big Al, using Hope Pro 2 hubs.

As we no longer have 26" wheeled bikes operational within the family and I am contemplating a new FS frame for Jnr, I wondered if the Pro2 Evo hubs can be converted to Boost?

If so, then some 650b rims will be purchased and our local wheel building guru can do the needful.

Thanks in advance all.

If you are building new wheels, why bother? Just get some Boost hubs or buy some Boost wheels.

Yes you can, with the hope boost adaptor kit. You get new end caps which are 3mm longer and a spacer for the rotor so that it marries up with the caliper.

EDIT - as per the links Teethgrinder sent

The frame in question is boost at rear but I currently have non-boost forks suitable for the frame. So would be looking at new wheels with non-boost front and boost rear...

Given I already have the hubs, and a mate has offered some 650b rims he bought and never got round to using, I am looking at having a decent pair of suitable wheels for the cost of build plus adapters.

I use the Hope ones linked above. Work a treat on my older Pro2's

I used the Hope kit and it works 100%. Dead easy to install too.

(Stealth Ad) I've since got a new rear hub so have the Hope kit for sale if you're interested?

Cheers
Carlos

I've just fitted my old non-boost pro2 evo onto a flare max & the only bits i needed were the axle end caps. It seems that the disc mount on hope hubs is a bit further out anyway & there's enough adjustment in the hope calipers to not need any spacers behind the rotor.

Depending on your gearing you may find the hope kit doesn't play.

Personal experience tells me shimano 11 works fine, sram 11 doesn't have the upper range to shift into the largest sprocket so needs a boostinator type (or two cheap ebay type) kit that offsets the NDS only.

I've not tried on other gearing so can't comment and it's anecdotal rather than actual but just be aware really.

Maybe you were doing something wrong then or didn't set it up correctly??

Once the disc was shimmed, end caps and wheel fitted, other than having to re index the gearing the 11spd Sram works as it should.
