looking at going to 1x11 from 3x9 but the hope site suggests my hub i not compatible with shimano 11speed..find this odd as most places say 11sp cassette is the same as size as 9 and 10 speed..
http://www.hopetech.com/11-speed-compatibility/# my hubs are the blue one with the red X next to it.

other question is if i go Sram xd free hub body will that make it compatible..this may be batter as i think the gear ratios are better with Sram cassettes

rear is 142x12 if that helps..

ta

Remove current freehub, fit xd Freehub. That's it. Same as swapping freehub s normally. Running gx here hard wearing and like the range

That compatibility chart is referring to road cassettes where 11s is wider than 10s. MTB cassettes are the same width from 8-11s. the largest sprocket is dished over the spokes for clearance. I'm running a Shimano 11-42 m8000 XT cassette on an early ProII evo (pre-40t) also 142x12 axle.

XD is required if you want to go SRAM, and it's what I'll be doing when I wear my cassette out, better range and less weight, not much price difference now either as Shimano have gone up in price while GX cassettes are available for £85ish now (was £110+ when I first converted to 11s)

Pro. 2 evo 142x12
9/10/11 speed shimano are all exactly the same. Road is different.
XD and sram 11 is also different as the 10t is narrower than the standard freehub body.

Depends on the axle. Quickest and simplest way is to wander into a nice bike shop and they will order and fit you one.

when you order the XD freehub you can choose which end cap you want.
