Can someone give me some advice please,
I decided to pass on my hope pro 2 wheels to my partner, her forks are 20mm pikes and I thought I'd only have simple job of removing the 15mm end caps and replacing them with the 20mm ones.
This didn't seem to be the case.
After tugging(and scratching)what I thought were end caps with a pair of pliers and not getting anywhere I tried to tap them out from the inside, when I did this the end flew out complete with bearing stuck to it followed by a metal tube with a rubber ring in the middle of it.
I thought I'd be able to remove the bearing from the end cap before fitting the 20 mm caps but can't do this either.
Gave up in the end to save myself pulling my hair out.

Should just be pull out 15mm ones and insert 20mm ones with the circlip. Sounds like something have seized. Advice would probably be put some grease on before you fitted the 15mm ones 🙁

Had the same problem myself recently with a set of Pro 2s. It was a problem entirely of my own making as I had neglected to put any grease on the 15mm adaptors before installing them. I managed to get the bearing off the end cap by using a rubber mallet to drive the blade of a knife in between the bearing and end cap. Once I'd made enough of a gap, working my way around the bearing, I could insert something either side to support the bearing over the gap in my workbench so I could knock out the adaptor.

a metal tube with a rubber ring in the middle of it

this is part of the 14mm adapter.

As above, you need to get the bearing off the adapter and back in the hub.

Tbh, at this point I'd probably just go for new bearings now at least one of them's out already 🙂 You don't have to be gentle trying to get them off the end cap then.
