Maybe slightly out of season I know, but which should I buy: the Exposure Race MaXx 2 or the Hope Vision 2 (and why)?

I see it - cheers for the tip druidh.

I like the look of the hope but the all in one-ness of the Exposure is also appealing 😕

i've heard of reliability issues with exposure's lights. but then again i've got a dodgy connection in my 2LED's aswell. Hope are going to sort that for me though 🙂

Battery life on a standard set is slightly better on Exposures (i know you can buy extra batterys for the Hope, but you can get a triple piggyback battery for exposures for £36 on crc atm).

If you want an all in one unit, its the only choice.

Also makes a handy torch, for those "lost your gloves when stopped for a pi$$" moments.

Thanks for the offer littlelordfauntleroy - I've already got a Vision 1 that gives me those lumens. I'm looking for something with a bit more kick to replace a pair of Deal Extreme specials.

Exposure. All in onesness is a positive boon. No need to try and find places to strap the battery pack to.

I use exposure lights. I have about 6 friends who use exposure lights. We all ride very regularly. No one has ever had a problem. Never heard of problems frome exposure lights.

However, hope on the other hand..

but then again i've got a dodgy connection in my 2LED's aswell. Hope are going to sort that for me though

Yeah - Hope replaced my Vision 1 no questions so their customer service is appealing.

Lets see you mount an exposure on your helmet then!

Hope defo. Yeah you have to strap the battery somewhere, but its a design thats more versatile.

Dealextreme P7 torch or bike specific torch.
Why? Cause there output is loads better than the exposure or Hope 2, for half the price.

Hope Vision 2 gets my vote

I had an exposure light which lasted 11 days and then failed, took 6 weeks to come back repaired and then lasted 3 days!

Now using Hope Vision 2, six months, no issues even after big crash with the bike landing on the lamp!

I know they arent the exact models you are asking about but :- I had an Exposure Enduro maxx, and changed for a hope vision 4, my verdict is that you will be well sorted with both. I swapped because I wanted the helmet mount ability, which the exposure cannot do because of the weight of it being an all enclosing unit.
But they are both brilliantly engineered units. Both with advantages and disadvantages, the all in one unit is what makes the Exposure unit so great, but on the flip side it is also its downfall as it cant be helmet mounted, (oh and I forgot, the mounting system on the exposure is fantastic and superior to the Hope)
The hope looks nicer (not like a soup can on your handlebars) its enginnering is just as high in quality and I think that the beam spread is brighter and better (but its not by much). Either way if you decide what features are most important to you, both are fab, and you wont go wrong

each to their own but IMO exposure all the way, i know there are more powerful lights but the fact theres no extra battery pack and pain in the ass cables I'll never go back.

Lets see you mount an exposure on your helmet then!

?????

easy, you must have oven gloves on!
