The hoses are a bit too long, some 10" too long. They're braided, so can I just cut them with cable cutters? Any olives or other bits I'll need? Thanks.
Check out the Hope web site all you need to know is on there in a video.
But answers are
Yes
No
The cutters will need to be sharp or you'll splay the braiding, you can get away with using the old olive, but a new one is easier to fit, especially if the braid has splayed a bit.All other bits are re-usable though you will probably need to bleed the lever(see final step of Hopes Tech Lever bleed video.)
Thanks.
Just a little tip for shortening Hope braided hose.
Mark where you want to cut the hose.
Strip the plastic coating off to this point.
Open up the olive and slide it back then cut the hose.
Saves trying to get the olive over a slightly frayed/deformed braid.

Totally do-able as show above, but if you're not confident take it to your lbs and save yourself alot of greif and brake fluid on the floor e.t.c!
Explosion In a Spaghetti Factory is right on the money! I've adopted the same proceedure in order to avoid trying to get an olive over splayed braid. Also worth having a couple of spare 'split' olives. These can then be widened a little to help ease them over the cut end.
And the sharper the cable cutters the better I reckon!
Cheers, will give it a go soon.
