Hi all,

I thought one of you would know the answer to this... what size alan key do I need to remove the tiny bolts in the top of my hope mono 6 reservoir?

I went through almost 40 alan keys & none fit... It can't be 1mm, is it 1.5mm or imperial?

Thanks in advance to everyone who helps.

They've only ever been either 2mm (original dome-top), 2.5mm (later flat-top) or T10 (Moto). I have a feeling that you may have a couple of rounded-out bolt heads. Could you post a picture?

thanks again, they may be 2mm yes. I know they are not rounded, I can see they are so far untouched. I know they aren't 2.5 because thats what I use on the lever to adjust the reach so I tried that already...

would like to post a picture but it's genuinely to hard for me at the minute.

Amazing that so any have already helped, thanks again everyone!!!

What are you talking about? I said that Moto (still marked Mono on the caliper) would be T10. You said they wouldn't be; you were wrong - see picture of Moto lever as evidence.

For the Mini lever you've pictured, the dome-top bolts will be 2mm. The flat-top bolts will be 2.5mm.

I am answering the OPs question. He does not have a moto lever as he said . So his standard bolts will be 2 mm

You might get your naming of the bolts correct as well. Dome head or cheesehead, Dome head ones are standard.

That wasn't established, and could not be assumed, until I asked him.

You sad, sad man.

Do you ever feel embarrassed by the way you conduct yourself on here?

Do you? You claim expertise you clearly do not have and are objectionable and stroppy when its pointed out.

I merely am laughing at you.

I bought some replacement bolts in stainless steel as the originals are known to round & the new ones were 3mm hex.

an update for you's...

I got hold of a 2mm key & it round both straight away! I got them both out though (easily) by hammering a slightly larger torx into the hole. worked a treat.

they tightened properly too. Job done & many thanks to all. I will contact hope & upgrade the bolts to torx heads.
