Coming back to an MTB after a long spell on the road, it seems like a lot has changed while I've been away. Weird size wheels, no more front mech, dinner plates on the back wheel. It's a mine field.
So, I have Hope Tech 3 Evo brakes. I only have a right hand shifter and rear mech.
I have picked out the hope matchmaker I need for the right hand xtr m980 shifter, that was easy enough.
I also have a Reverb. This is where the problem starts! I have the RIGHT HAND remote mounted upside down on the left side of the bars.
Can I buy a SRAM hope matchmaker to fit the Reverb remote on the left brake lever? If so, do I buy the RH or LH SRAM matchmaker??
If this won't work, can I run both a SRAM RH matchmaker and a shimano matchmaker on the RH brake lever (I notice the SRAM bolts into the lever body and the shimano is part of the clamp).
Anyone had the same issue??
The reverb remote and tech 3 lever cannot be combined, sram guide brakes on the other hand can be (The brake lever assembly is bolted to the reverb lever).
As far as mounting the shifter, you can use the shimano Ispec mounts. You dont necessarily need the mounts, unless your shifter position cant be achieved with a traditional clamp.
Thanks, yes, makes sense looking at it now. I'll get the I spec covers for the shifter and the reverb will have to remain.
