I've just bought some Hope Mono M4s with 203mm rotors.
Forks are rock shox domains, post mount. Any ideas what adaptor I need to get these to work? I know I can ring hope in the morning but thought I'd ask..
Cheers.
You need a Hope Post mount to IS adapter. Google is your friend. Think mine eventually came from Wiggle for about a tenner. If you've got 203mm rotors you also need a couple of small washers between post mounts and adapter. If you have 203 compatible m4s then god knows what you do as the Hope adapter adds 20mm. So you need a bigger disc. Standard 180mm calipers + adapter requires 200mm rotor
Yeah, that's the bit I was stuck on as I read on another thread where the 183 rotors would get pushed up to 203 with a IS/post adapotor but it was a bit of a spur of the moment purchase eek 🙂
If the calipers are IS (No 8), then your rotors are 200mm, not 203mm. Without going to 220mm rotors, there's no way you're getting those calipers on that fork.
So what's the options other than stick them on the classifieds, smaller calipers?
What is the rear caliper set-up? Is that using a 200mm? Hope don't (didn't) do an IS caliper for 200m rear...
OK, make sense now. The caliper on the front is a 9:74 so thats the 183, just need a standard post to is mount I think.
No, the 9.74 is PM and needs a specific adaptor to fit a specific disc. If the disc is 203mm (not the 200mm I though it was when I thought that the caliper was IS mount) then you need mount adaptor C (check here)
What is the rear caliper and disc?
