Bought a set of hope jockeys to go in my nice new XT mech. The upper one comes with a little brass bushing, but the pulley bolt won't fit through with it in place.

Anyone know if I'm just supposed to fit it without in these circumstances? I've only ever tinkered with Shimano mechs, so haven't a clue if there are different bolt sizes on other brands.

EDIT: Cancel that, found the answer.

Presumably that's the "JOCKEY WHEEL REDUCER SLEEVE
(OPTIONAL PART, NOT REQUIRED ON ALL APPLICATIONS)" (sorry about caps, copied from the below)

Sorry, went off and fitted the bugger - allthepies has it...it's not needed on Shimano mechs.

Also the lower pulley has a directional arrow but the upper one doesn't so i take it that means it doesn't matter which way round it goes?

You are correct, apparently. It's the same on the XT jockeys I replaced.
