So, I have a hope pro 4 that I'm waiting for a new freehub to arrive for. It's possibly gonna to not arrive before my weekend ride. I also have a pro 2 hub. Can I use the pro 2 freehub on the pro 4? Or will I die a slow and painful death when the freehub dies in the middle of nowhere?!

Pro 2 freehub is AFAIK a different width such as you can't fit an 11 speed cassette on it. So, yes, you'll die. Probably

What if I'm running a 10speed on both hubs?

Pro 2 doesn't fit Pro 4. I believe the drive rings are different sizes.

To be certain, go to the Hope website and check the part numbers on their exploded diagrams.

not sure what you mean by the drive ring. I have looked at the hope exploded diagrams but the have very few dimensions

Definitely not, the inner bearing and drive flange are a bigger diameter on the pro 4.

They don't put dimensions on, but if they were the same parts, they'd carry the same part number.

Yes you can. I have a couple of PRO2's with 11 speed.

Pro2 and Pro4 are not interchangeable though.

You can't fit a road 11 on a pro2 but you can use MTB 11.

In either case a pro4 won't fit a pro2, they're different diameters at the pawl end and the seal is a different size.

Interesting, which cassette are you using? I was considering going to 11spd on my cx bike but the hope website was pretty definite about pro2 Evo freehubs not taking 11spd

Shimano 11 speed mountain bike cassettes fit on a standard 8/9/10 speed freehub (largest cog is dished over) most road cassettes require a longer 11 speed freehub (everything has to fit inline).

Interesting, which cassette are you using?

One has an XT 11-42 and the other a Sunrace 11-46.

the hope website was pretty definite about pro2 Evo freehubs not taking 11spd

Think they're talking about 11 speed road not MTB.

Thanks, that's good to know. I'll stick with the 10 speed until my sti levers die then maybe look at an 11spd + hydraulic conversion
