Use the 12mm end caps off of my boost Pro4 hub on my “std” spaced Pro 2 EVO to make it a 142mm hub?
I think so.
The difference is in the hub shell. Pro2 Evo and Pro4 are the same outer diameter axle. Won't on older Pro2, though.
From the Hope exploded diagrams for both hubs they are the same.
HUB471 drive side and HUB463N non-drive side
Actually scratch that, for the PRO2 EVO it looks like the non-drive side is the same, but Hope give different part numbers for the drive side cap, it's HUB462.
Sorry I initially checked for PRO4 Vs PRO4 boost
I’m pretty sure the 2Evo and 4 have interchangeable end caps. Certainly I’ve been treating them as such but I guess I could have got lucky. Wishiwascalledsteve, are those different part numbers something like microspline vs normal?
No just the standard Shimano freehub, assume the PRO2 EVO freehub has a slightly different internal profile to the PRO4 (exploded diagrams give different part numbers for the 2EVO and 4 freehubs)
They’re definitely sold as interchangeable, or at the very least backward compatible. Running change perhaps?
In my fuzzy memory, the only spacers that I've found weren't interchangeable are the Sram XD driveside ones. I remember having to turn one down on the lathe to clear the cassette. For Shimano you should be fine.
Yeah, if the freehubs are same type, it should work, but XD has a different cap
