Hi guys
Alot of the bearings on my bike match the bearings in the hope hubs. Which are stainless steel!
Has anyone had any success using these as pivot bearings?
I dont think much of enduro bearings in general. Wondered who makes the hope hub bearings.
Thanks guys
Would always tend to use different for hubs and bearings, pivot bearings tend to be better with max style bearings, and they don't really care about efficiency, so can use full contact seal.
Of course you can use what you like, they'll all work, and fail at some point, i also don't find enduro, kinetic, etc any different to each other, they are all build to print against a spec, using the same materials, if there is a grumble it can be lack of grease on new bearings, but you can flip the seal off and check and regrease.
Been using them for years on mine with no issues, not being max compliment hasn't made a noticable difference to me. The biggest difference I made to mine was making a mudflap from a wide innertube to protect them from being sprayed with filth by the front wheel, reckon it's increased their lifespan twice over.
Current Hope hub bearings are made by Enduro
Yeah, as above, Hope moved a load of their bearings to Enduro, not sure all of them, but the main ones like the 6 series for sure, also stainless steel are nice, but they do suffer galling badly and then pitting on bikes if not looked after properly, the UK is not a great environment for bearings in general to be fair.
