Just bought the above. If I want to convert to tubeless do I take the existing rim tape off and put the stans rim tape on or does that go over the top?
Do I need UST tyres or are normal tyres fine?
Are there any issues with brass cassette holder and SRAM cassettes?
Thanks
Matt
Tape off the rim strip in there, clean with IPA or fairy, and a scouring pad, dry, apply the tape 🙂
Normal tyres are fine, what tyres are you after?
Ideally, use SRAM 970 or above models - that only have 3 pieces, or they will dig into the freehub.
Stans yellow tape - stans valves.
Normal - "should" be fine. Some reports of Schwalbe not being the best combination.
Its not brass - alu. Ideally you need a cassette with an alu carrier (eg XT or above - I dont know what the SRAM equivalent is) but you can probably get away with any one so long as you're happy to accept scoring / digs in the freehub.
Cheers,
Ron.
