Going to view a used hb130 this week and have questions are their sizing. Its a large and I'm 6 foot. Heard they come up a little small? I'm currently riding a 2019 whyte t130 in large, been looking on geometry geek comparing the two bikes a large hb is a little shorter in the reach compared to my whyte, go xl and its 20mm longer which seems a big jump.
Ideally I need a demo but that's not available for me. What size bikes are yoy guys riding?
I have a mate who's 5ft 10" and had always ridden medium frames but his LBS recommended going with a large and he's more than happy with it.
I'm bang on 6ft and had a quick pedal on it and in all honesty I did feel like I could have done with a couple of CM more ETT / Reach. The shop he bought it from (Peddlers in Redcar) did say that they were recommending 6ft+ guys to go for the XL, against the Hope size chart.
Hope have a good test ride network so I'd seriously suggest sitting on both the L and XL before committing.
Great bike btw. Build quality is excellent.
I am 5 foot 9/176 and ride a large, at 6 foot you could go on either a large with a 50mm stem or XL with the 35. Standover and seat tubes are low so it's more just 'choose the reach you want' rather than 'the right size'
There are advantages to a shorter bike too. Amazing bikes.
6'1" on an XL feels right to me. I did demo a size L as well which felt OK if I had been wanting a more chuckable bike. You really do need to try em.
Hi
I’m bang on 6ft and riding an XL with a 35mm stem and it’s spot on for general trail riding.
As said above if you want something more flickable go L.
I went to the factory to check them out and they were happy for me to take both sizes out to try. Unfortunately it was peeing down so I just did a car park test and the L felt a little short especially stood up which is why I went for the XL.
Hope that helps
Cheers
Steve
