Has anyone bought, tested, borrowed or other, this supposedly droolworthy thing?

Any use??
Although I’d still have the HB160 like a shot, if I had more money...

chakaping

The lad who won the contest and came on here to brag ask for advice.

Would that be me then?

I hope it didn't come across as bragging 🙂 Obviously I was chuffed to bits and couldn't believe my luck but the advice was definately needed and much appreciated.

Still waiting for the bike actually, took me a while to decide on everything and then there is a few weeks lead time on the build. So can't advise the OP really. Only had a brief ride on a couple of demo bikes.

What I can tell you is they are stunning in the flesh..err..carbon. Fantastic pieces of engineering and I can't wait to get mine out on a proper ride.

Only joking, didn't seem like bragging at all

Enjoy when it arrives

I’ve had one for nearly 6 weeks and loving it so far. It’s done a week in Scotland and a few decent rides in wales too. Definitely rides like a bike with more travel then it has.

Running it with the Fox Suspension and it is faultless. The only thing I’ve noticed is the rear tyre rubs on the odd occasion when sprinting.

Just on the side of the seat stay when you are pushing hard round corners. I’ve only had it once or twice and I’m fairly certain that if the wheels are stiffer it wouldn’t happen.

Doesn’t detract from the bike at all though. It’s a mega machine.

Many thanks, but that only means I’ll have to seek approval for gnarbon wheels now 🤷‍♂️
Seriously, thankyou for your advice. I’m not sure whether I’m capable of “pushing into. corners” enough to do that. Then again 🤔

Hiya,

If I may add to this. It's not totally about Hope but a recommendation. I'd been looking at orange 5s then I rode a Scott spark XC. It all changed the short travel 29!suited my riding style much better. Anyway sprog went to uni and caused a cash he in the finances. So roll forward I again started looking at bikes. This time a cotic rocket so pretty convinced this was the bike for me I thought I want to test ride first before taking the leap. So two weeks ago I went to the forest of dean to test ride the rocket. I hasten to add I thought I'd better book a few other bikes for comparison, so I booked a flare to ride to. Ok first things first I enjoy climbing bikes it's half the challenge of mountain biking. So first rode the rocket I really didn't enjoy it on the climbs downhill I have to say I've rarely ridden a bike so accomplished. So halfway there. Deflated I went back to cotic and tried the flare. Wow instant gell climbs so much better and downhill fast and confidence inspiring.

Roll forward flare ordered should arrive next week. The story try short travel first and remember where you're riding the majority of the time 😉

Sorry for thread hijack needs to be said

JeZ

I very nearly pulled the trigger on a HB130 a few weeks ago, but I bought a Land Rover instead 😂.

Hope you mean the LR Daffy.
Well, it’s on it’s way, and coincidentally, it’s bedecked in hope’s finest orange bling.

Can you buy Hope riding gear that’s orange, and not green 🤔

Great choice Pipiom. I’ve had mine for a smidge under 2 months and it has been faultless.

Shameless plug, but mine will soon be up for sale. I’ve got a 2020 Reign 29er on order and it’s arriving way soon then first expected. It’s a Large and dripping in Fox suspension and Orange Hope bling. Fully invisiframed and immaculate. Thanks
