I need to stock up on pads for me and the good lady before heading to the Alps. I know Galfer make the Red Hope pads (which I really like) but does anyone know which the equivalent Galfer pad is. I assume it's the standard black ones but not sure!

Black seem to be standard resinish. Red sintered. Purple xtreem, green who knows.
Just got 4sets of galfer black for the Alps. I don't expect to use 4 sets I'm pretty much putting news pads in to head out and taking a spare set.
The blacks are pretty stoppy so they'll do what I want, using them on maguras.
I find the standard blacks lack top end and can overheat. Predominantly depends on riding style and weight I should think.
My preference is uberbike e-matrix, although I'm about to try Galfer purple - e-bike spec on my Hayes Dominions.
Galfer pads are all semi metals. I suspect the red pads are the same as hopes. They're broadly the same as the blacks but use a different resin that handles wet use better. As hope advertise their pads as 'all weather' for their reds that would make sense.
It looks to me as though Hope use the same colour coding as Galfer, but Hope don't have a black pad, so it's probably (looking at the Galfer table) slightly less powerful than Hope reds but generally the same. Just a guess though.
Pretty sure hope red is a galfer red, that’s with use aswell. Galfer also do a green pad which I wasn’t a massive fan of. Didn’t feel as consistent as the reds. The hope green pad seems to be made by trickstuff.
The red pads I find the best for all round performance personally
Thanks all, will stick with the Hope reds. Probably explains why the Galfer blacks are cheaper.
