hey all,
Brand new Pro 3 steel hub body (replaced a previous alloy) was put on a few weeks ago and I've been getting some annoying noise the last couple of rides..somewhere on the bike, had the bike up in the stand and noticed the cranks turned when the bike was freewheeling.
First port of call being cranks which spin fine on their own, so moved onto the freehub, given it a check over and everything looks as it should. However, now I've put it back together (as in the plastic type washer that pulls the freehub into the hub) and now it moves about 1.5mm when pulled out, which will obviously affect the drivetrain.
any insight?
thanks
Sounds like you've missed/forgotten the little washer that sits between the freehub and the axle bearing, it's about that thickness. Usually sticks to the freehub when removed.
sounds like your missing the spacer from between the freehub and the driveside hub bearing.
6 Seconds to slow.
DID YOU REMEMBER TO PUT THE SPACER ONTO THE AXLE BEFORE YOU PUT THE FREEHUB BACK ON ? IF SO, IS THERE ANY PLAY WHEN THE WHEEL IS IN THE BIKE ?
hey all, if you're talking about the 2mm spacer, then yeah that's there. Double checked. I've put it all together and back on the bike..seems ok. Will give it a road test tomorrow to see...and give an update
thanks for the replies
