Looking at pro 2 hubs, for a 12.5/13 stone rider on hard tail. Tyres 2.1 to 2.3 Max. Won't be running tubeless.

What rims should I go for ? I only have experience of 717's but would like something for bigger tyre

Thanks

Arch Ex would be my choice (if no hard dh involved)...although you might get away with crests if you don't hammer them though rock gardens

Thanks. What tyres can the crests take as they seem a bit lighter ?

I've got a 2.25 UST Nobby Nic on the front which seemed to fit ok.

Another vote for crests here. You'll be fine with anything upto a 2.25/2.3" tyre on there.

If you buy the crests or any other Stans rims, get the tubeless tape & valves to go with some new tubeless tyres, it's worth it in the long run

I've got a pair of almost new hope hoops for sale - Pro2 straight pull, crest rims. £200 plus p&p.
RRP is £350+
The rear has had 15 miles and the front a couple of SS rides ( so short!)

Currently got 2.35 High Roller LUST's on a set of crest hoops (tubless).

Not had any problems and run them on a Soul, a Soda and a vf2 at one point. And I'm heavier than you...

Crest
I'm bigger than you and somewhat lacking in finesse.
2.35 Minion or 2.3 Purgatory, tubeless.

I have a set sat next to me in the office that just arrived today.

At 15st (without kit) i opted for the Arch EX rather than the flows i have on other bikes as this build is a bit more XC. The crests are appealing but i'd rather have a bit of extra strength over a small weight saving.

I'm 12.5 stone, no problems on Crests (I'm not the most gifted driver) over 1500 miles or so.

Mad bill

How come? - I'm down to just one 26er, and it's SS.
Colour - all black.

Ian - I'd go with arch ex rims.

2.35 on my 29 Crests went on a doddle and seated tubeless with barely a puff

(I took them off as they were too heavy, but that wasn't the fault of the rim)
