Is it a must for the hope socket or will any socket do ?.
Just thought that theirs might be thinner to fit into that bit of the pedal. But if folk have used normal 1/4" sockets in the past its one less thing to do. Also asking if its specially long.
Only 9 quid, but i need to buy the service kit(£30) and if I can get away without having to buy their socket tool too, i'd be happier at that.

Hit or miss I think mate. Have you a load of 8mm's to see if one is a little thinner than the rest and give it a try? I seem to have accrued a few multiples of sockets around that size for some reason over the years.lol
I ground down a one for just this purpose ages back. Not on a Hope pedal but another one that had the same restriction on socket size.
If someone knows the diameter of the Hope socket/ aperture of pedal then you could measure the socket/s you have to see if one might fit.
Don't know if it also has to have a long reach like the Hope one, or if an extension bar will do? Is the nut mounted well onboard on the pedal?
buy the tool
My sockets did not fit, so I had to buy the tool !
its really thin- not worth the filing down unless you have a grinder
I can grind it thinner, but thats always problematic, ends up slightly elliptical and its likely to be fiddly, would be my option if there were no others but ive the ebay/paypay so not a problem.
@Andy. You're probably right plus saves all the hassle.
9 quid for a single socket though, I guess it must be pro quality 😆
I just bought the pro2 bearing drift kit, thinking the bearings would probably need doing and took to wheels off to find they weren't 😆
