Looking to upgrade to some Hope Evo 155mm cranks. Currently got Shimano SLX 12 speed on a 2024 Canyon Neuron boost frame with a Shimano threaded BB.
Do I need a new bottom bracket or will the cranks work with what I've got?
Also, what does 'no spider' mean?

You'll need a bottom braclet that fits your frame and takes a 30mm axle, if your frame takes a threaded BB then the Hope 30mm BSA bb is good, Rotor make a decentish cheaper option, lots of others also
No spider means just the cranks alone, they do an option with a "spider" thats essentially an adapter to allow a four bolt chainring to fit, most folks use a direct mount chainring on them
Are all the compatible BBs for this poor, given the 30mm axle means less room for the bearing than on a 24mm Shimano axle?
Edit: I think I was wrong, at least for Hope BBs? I see the bearings for Hope are 37x24x7 vs. 42x30x7 so same amount of room.
Bite the bullet and buy a Hope 30mm BB - I tried a few different brands with my RF cranks (RF, Praxis, Nukeproof) and it was a false economy as they all died within a few months.
The Hope one is still going strong 2 years later.
Uberbike now do a 30mm threaded BB.

I asked a similar question a few months back - suggestions were that Hopes were a good buy so thats the way I went. My Hope BB on my other bike is only just starting to make some creaking noises now after nearly 7 years...
Hope for Hope cranks IMO. There are some small compatibility issues with different 30mm combinations (RF crank, Hope BB for example). Shell width I think.
I have other 30mm BSA BB combos and I can thoroughly recommend Wheels Manufacturing. Proper quality with different bearing options. Others, as stated above can be a false economy (NP, RF, Rotor, Praxis).

Have run several different RF cranks on Hope BBs with no issues, one alu, and the three carbon ones that broke, the aduster takes care of any axle width variations
“small” compatibility issues. I guess it depends on how sensitive your gear set up and bike is to chainline issues. Didn’t notice that as much with 10speed versus now (12) Using extra spacers isn’t ideal and running that set up on 3 different mtb frames (RF turbines) and one gravel bike (with Easton cinch cranks), gave me sub optimal shifting/indexing. The pre load ring was often at the extreme end of the thread to take slack properly even with extra spacers. Switched to Hope crank/bb on one mtb, with set up as insteuctions and the others have had wheels mf BBs. Set up/Spacers as per crank instructions and no further issues. Hope will even tell you theirs isn’t compatible with other cranks. But, YRMV.
There's a BSA 30mm Endurobearings Maxhit bottom BB... that's what I'm looking at if I make the switch.
