Hi, anybody know how to separate the axle spindle from the non drive side crank arm on a Hope Evo crankset? Cheers in anticipation.
give hope a call, they're pretty good at picking up the phone
You need a part from hope and a press.
once the bolt is out you then need to press the old axle out and the new one in.
I took mine to a local engineering place to get them to press the axle out and in.
You might be able too bodge it, but why risk it on such expensive cranks.
Thanks for the replies. I have the tool but couldn’t see how to use it to remove the spindle and was wondering if I was missing something.
Thanks again for the replies. I phoned Hope this morning and spoke to Johnny in tech support who has sent detailed instructions on the official method and a quicker and simpler option using the original Hope crank installation tool so just need to get one of those now.
@drew can you share how to remove the axle? The press fit between the axle and crank arm is making a very annoying creak when putting the power down on the non drive side crank. Hoping removing, greasing and refit would sort it.
@sam1988 pm your email address and I’ll forward the instructions to you.
