Standard or Sintered - good/bad points for each?
Hope don't offer any info on their site.
Sintered for wet foul abrasive conditions, organic for everything else.
I've decided to stick to genuine hope pads from now on. I find the standard ones last well until it gets really gritty.
Hope genuine pads seem to last forever. But this time of year I'm using sintered have been in since Autumn and show minimum wear.
Standard = organic
Sintered don't fade like a standard/organic pads will on long descents, but I find they take a few stops to get some heat in them and start working properly.
I used to use standard pads all the time, but riding longer & steeper descents meant sintered coped better (and lasted longer)
As above Hope Standard seem to last for ages. Didn't know standard = organic 😳
Me neither. So the pads the brakes ship with from new are organic.
Organic/standard? Let's call them non sintered.
