You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Out in Morzine and Les Gets last week. I'd had the bike fully serviced before we went, however two rides in and the BB of my HB160 packed up in spectacular style. As I'd had it serviced I'd left the HB bespoke BB tool at home, not expecting to need it.
Not a single shop in Les Gets or Morzine had it. Looking like holiday over after just 2 days. So I called Hope in the UK to see if they could help.
They directed me to their mechanic, Dan, who was there for the world cup. Despite it being 5pm and him been out riding all day, he stripped it all down, replaced bearings and casing and axle and had me up and running in an hour. The Guy flat our refused to take a bean from me. I felt proper cheeky dropping a crate of beer out for him the next day.
So Cheers Rob and Dan at Hope. You guys just sum up one of the main reasons why I bought an HB160.
That's great. I do wish they'd avoid using propietary tools though. I have thir original cranks, but the amount of faff involved in removing and refitting them (10mm allen key, socket or a big wrench, 70 (yes SEVENTY) nM torque and two special tools needed) means I'd never be comfortable with taking them abroad. (New cranks do solve this, to be fair)
that's absolutely brilliant i have to say.
Brilliant service.
Yep have used their customer service a couple of times and it’s superb.
Now that is 😎
Now you can 🤘on
👌(anyone know when is the HB130 is available)
Late August to September was what I last heard. If i had the spare cash I'd have one to go alongside my HB160.
