Hi,

Wanted to go from 180mm to 203mm with my Hope E4s. Do I need to use C-Mount to made it from 160mm PM to 203mm PM?

At the moment I think I have L-Mount 160-180 PM to PM...

Just double checking before pull the trigger...

Cheers!

I.

Nope, I have a C mount, like you say, 160-203.

180-203 is H mount

Hi. Just had the same issue identifying a 160mm to 200mm mount. Rang Hope and then found this:

Sorry, my bad. Mental shortcut.

Forks is PM 160 and currently I'm using L Mount to have it with 180 rotor.

With C Mount it would be going 160 to 203, new rotor, 203mm required of course?

Cheers!

I.

Do you need to use a hope mount with a hope brake?

I was thinking of getting a e4 and putting it straight onto the shimano mount that is already there

Tried using a generic mount for a 200mm rotor/brake combo for my E4s, would not work. Ended up ordering the Hope mount.

@stevie750 The E4 calipers won't fit on Shimano mounts

Yeah, tried Shimano and it was just slightly off. Hence L Mount 160PM to 180PM.

After second thought and forks checking I realized that need 180PM to 203PM.

So looks like I will need H Mount afterall...

Cheers!

I.

Only shimano mount I have ever found to work with E4s was one og the old PM to PM +20mm ones that had 2 sets of bolts. The newer version with one set of long bolts doesnt work. It is generally the link between the two ends of the mount that is straight on the shimano mount but needs to curve away from the caliper to give clearance for the piston. Some of the Avid mounts curve but not quite enough unless you are using say a +20 and need to add some washers to get +21.5 for a 183 or 203 rotor.
