In t'Dark Peak.
Which is best and why?
Surely they're not mutually exclusive?
Unless you mean Jaggers vs Roman Road, in which case I vote Jaggers.
As what? Routes up? Prefer brinks as its easier and I'm weak.
Scrabble scores? Jaggers = 16, Jaggers Clough (two words) = 28. Hope Brink is 20.
So Jaggers Clough probably.
Routes down. I'm trying to plan next weekend's ride.
By Hope Brink I mean the one off the side of Win Hill through Top Plantation, not the one that goes by Fulwood Stile Farm.
By Jagger's Clough I mean Jaggers Clough.
Jaggers is longer (good or bad) and doesn't involve a long road descent!
However, if someone has got the gate for you, that little shimmy through the woods is very nice on what you're calling Hope Brink.
(I always thought Hope Brink was the descent from Win Hill to the top of the Roman Road, but I could be mistaken).
Given the recent rain I'd say Jagger's. The woods will be a mud fest.
I could be completely wrong about the name of Hope Brink, it wouldn't be the first time.
Good point about the woods though.
Hope Brink is a climb and not a very enjoyable one at that.
Jaggers Clough is OK as a descent. What are you trying to connect before/after though?
Up and over Hollins Cross, either up from Castleton and down Back Tor or t'other way around.

Must have missed the one-way signs...
OK, I admit I haven't ridden Hope Brink as a descent. I can't see it working well that way in current conditions.Must have missed the one-way signs...
Hope Brink is heavy going upwards when it's v muddy, most would be off pushing in the early stages between the gates. Good fun as a descent IMHO.
Jaggers is weather-proof up and down - typical Peak tripletrack descent, wouldn't be my choice but plenty like blasting this sort of stuff.
Cheers chaps, I think we'll go for Jaggers this time round, it'll get us where we want to go.
