Morning all,
I've just swapped some Hope Mono M4 front and Mono mini rear brakes (silver/ black version) onto a new build, only to fine they're leaking at the levers. They're obviously old brakes but they've had an easy life so I'd like to hang on to them.
I'll give Hope a call in the morning but in the meantime does anyone know if they still service this version and how much they charge?
Looks like there's some corrosion around some of the lever end, hose fittings. I'm assuming these would be sorted too?
Yes they still service them but it's something like £50 each end plus postage. That's a full caliper and lever rebuild plus pads, not sure hose fittings would be covered but that wouldn't be much extra. I'll check later as I got a quote for my M4's last year.
They will rebuild anything from original Mini and M4 onwards with the exception of Mono 6's.

Be interesting to get a definitive replacement parts list off Hope as there are a lot of them. But £50 isn't bad as you'll get a factory bleed too and the part costs soon add up
Pretty sure it's all the seals, o-rings and consumable parts you would reasonably expect to get replaced. Oh, and pistons IIRC.
I elected to do it myself as it worked out cheaper (including the daft tools) and I didn't need anything done to the levers, TBH it's really not difficult to do at all and bleeding is as easy as they show on the video. However if you're not that way inclined I'd say their service is good value, certainly compared to shock/fork servicing.
My tech 3 / v4 were 54 gbp. Done in a day ... total turnaround time 5 days!
Hope we’re great - also phone me up to tell me they had been done.
BTW last time I phone them up, the were extremely surly ... so nice change.
Really pleased with the service
Thanks for info, will be interesting to hear what Hope say re cost. £50 an end is = to new slx, hummm. I've looked at buying the parts and i'm capable of doing it but time to ride is currently pretty low and tinkering is none existent, so I'm erring to send them anyway.
Yeah but £50 an end gets you pretty much as new Hopes. That price sounds right so unless something dramatic has happened that's what you should expect to pay.
£50 an end is = to new slx
Only in cost.
Flip456 - when you speak to Hope, any chance you can ask what's replaced and maybe get it in an ema so you can post up.
Like you, I'm more than capable (did it to an older set of Mono M4's) but a full rebuild for £50 is defo worth looking into
Cheers
Carlos
When i phoned last week the price for x2's was £49.99
Break down is - Every renewable part replaced - pistons/seals in caliper,plunger/seals in lever, new fluid and new pads. It all works out at the cost of the parts, and labour is effectively free.
All in all a good deal, no hydraulic fluid over everything, no trying to get the inner pistons out, when you know one is going to stick like glue, no damage to that nice ano bore cap, fully bled to a professional standard, and brand new Hope pads to boot- So take yours out before sending 😆
Fit, center ready to go with confidence. To be honest its probably the best way to service them.(Given how much is dependence on them 😉 )
I had a pair of black and silver mono m4s serviced this year, around 54 pounds each including new pads, faultless since and they are over ten years old. Download the service sheet from Hope's website and send them in. They will contact you if needed, I wouldn't be surprised if they just fix any small issues.
