Had numerous standards of bearings including stainless Enduro and they only last about a dozen rides , always fitted correctly and cranks torqued correctly.
Never had any issues with Shimano 24mm is it normal for bb30 to suffer problems
I'd be questioning the alignment of the bottom bracket shell in the frame.
Exactly which bottom bracket do you mean by bb30?
External cups
BSA30? Or T47?
Alignment of the bearings in all planes. Easy to get it wrong, and if it's wrong enough, you'll kill the bearings.
There are even fields in commercial bearing life calculators to allow for out of alignment.
BSA30
Its almost certainly bearing misalignment due to frame tolerance.
Shimano 24mm and bb design have more allowance to take up misalignment.
Any fret marks on the axle?
If it's BSA30 then a good shop should have the tools to check bottom bracket alignment. They may even be able to improve things with facing if the threads are alignedÂ
Silly question but let's tick off the easy stuff first, are you sure you're not putting too much preload in the bearings?
Kinda my school of thought, I think the preload is too much plus water ingress because of no inner tube , maybe

If a BB (or the bearings) aren't lasting more than a dozen rides theres something very wrong with either the cups or the frame (Hope BB30 user - one year in including Alps trips, a full winter of riding and a tendency to just chuck the bike back in the workshop when I'm back from a ride even if its filthy - BB is smooth as still...)

+ 1 for bb shell alignment issues. Axle fret marks would also be evidence of this. I've been through all this before with a dub set-up. Thought water ingress was an issue so drilled a hole. Still happened and it turned out to be a bit of bb shell misalignment. It's fine with 24mm axles/bbs and square taper, but go larger and the problems appear.

Or the cranks.

Ditto.
I feel like the solution to almost any BB related issue is usually just to buy Shimano. Bigger bearings, steel axles, almost impossible to over-preload (the correct preload is so low it's basically zero).
But yea, get the BB chased and faced to see if that solves it.
My (Cannondale, so no cups, just bearings pressed into the frame) lasts a long time even with the most generic bearings so it's almost certainly either an alignment or installation issue if Hope ones aren't lasting.

Xt ordered and hollowtech bb , this issue i had with Hope gen 1 cranks on an Orange and now the latest cranks on a Trn Smuggler , sell the crank and bb and move on .
Shimano for the win
Are you not going to get the frame looked at?
Â
Seems OTT to get new transmission straight away. It might be far enough out of whack that shimano can't accomodate it either. Then you'd be in a pickle.

What cranks were you using?
Â
I think the OP said it all worked fine with 24mm Shimano before, so whatever the tolerance issue, it's within what Shimano HT2 can accommodate.Â
Ah. Fair enough. Missed that bit.
