What bearings do I need?
What tools to fit?
Who can I send the BB too do the above?
Hope do a BB bearing press (hammer) tool. I guess that the bearings will depend on the crank/ BB you are running ?

It’s a Shimano crank , normal diameter
It’s a Shimano crank , normal diameter
The above tool should work then.
Can be obtained from other shops 🙂
I bought the tool to remove the bearings years ago. Now I push them out. Clean them, repack with grease and refit. Haven't had to buy new bearings in years. Tool cost £20 ish.
I just replaced mine again(actually drive side only as it had gone again),you can do it without specific tools. Take the cups out, remove outer dust plates - tap out old bearings and used bench vice and old bearing to press in new.
It will complicate things 'if' you have sram cranks and hopes GXP adaptors installed.
Ha! Drive side is the one that’s gone on mine.
Bearing goes bad because drive side always gets the hose again 😛
I use a dainty little chisel to gently tap the duff bearings out.
Clean the cups out, l’aal bit of grease & press the new bearings in ,using a vice and the drive side bearing I have just removed.
(I keep the non drive side ones for when the drive side goes on my slop bike👍)
Just to be contrary. I've used hope BBs for years, but when a new bearing is the same price as an XT BB on Wiggle why would you bother?
Having said that I've taken the cover of a Hope BB, blasted the balls with degreaser cleaned, dried and packed with grease, good for another year.
MR2437 bearings. Aire velo or kinetic bearings are both good.
We use this guy for all our bearing replacements
I have a Hope BB bearing tool which I used once and is now surplus to requirements.
I went back to Shimano BB's instead.
If anyone want's it for a fair price let me know. Pretty heavyweight though so not sure on postage costs.
@twoton how much?
I can get brand new for £22 posted
Thanks Tracey
I dont think you need the tool for H2 type hope bearings. I just put the cup in the freezer overnight and then put it in a cup bearing side down and poor boiling water on it. Take out the cup and the bearing should just drop out. If it doesn't tap it on the table a couple of times.
To fit a new bearing I use the old bearing to press in the new in a vice.
Think that was a Kaesae tip (RIP)
Sounds fine , just replied to your PM.
