Evening all ,

Just purchased a Orange five this evening thinking it was a superstar wheelset on hope pro3 hubs . Little did I know they turn out to be hopes 1295 wheelset... Bonus! So anyways I was looking to sell them as they didn't really go with the colour scheme in mind.. Yes I want my bike to look pretty , but yeah they are mega lightweight obviously the name of them is a hint . Seen that they were hope pro 3 xc6 hubs on anodised hope / Stans crest rims (red ) . Now bikerumour stated they were limited run first in blue then red . Has anyone else been lucky enough to come across them or own some , and how much could I expect to get for them IF I decide to sell them

Cheers !

I have some red ones on my anthem. They are stupidly light but have proven to be very strong considering the weight. Definitely not the right wheels for an orange five though. I have no idea what they are worth nowadays. Probably next to nothing being 26". If I were looking to change them I would probably buy some light bicycle rims and get them laced onto the xc6 hubs.

I was wondering what they were like strength wise ! They do certainly feel a tad flexible
In the five .

Captain flash thanks but I don't spend my life on a forum so I appreciate the guidance

They are quite flexy in certain circumstances. I get really bad wheel wobble if I go no handed over about 30mph. It's not something I notice when riding though and I'm used to light bicycle carbon rims on my nomad which are very stiff.

Why not? 30mph isn't that fast going downhill on a road and it's a good opportunity to have a stretch. Not on the anthem though. Not that I try and ride a mtb on road very often but sometimes it's the quickest way to get to the good stuff.

I suspect they are very similar to my Pro3 XC SP3 wheels. Do they have 24 straight pull spokes? I decided they weren't worth trying to sell so replaced the rims with 38mm 650b Light Bicycle jobs. The hubs appear very good, I don't think the internals are much different to a Pro 2 Evo.

To be fair to the bloke, he actually doesn't if you look at the time between posts.
