Hop Pro 2 Evo and Pro 4 parts compatibility

Managed to crack my pro 2 evo rear hub shell last weekend so I am wondering what to replace it with.

One option is a hope Pro4, and I can see a few around at decent prices, however they have the wrong freehub body and end caps.

I am wondering if I can re-use the pro2 evo parts from the broken hub to achieve the configuration I need, and cut my costs a bit.

The pro2 evo I have cracked is a 142 x 12. This has been boostinated with aftermarket spacers (NOT the hope replacement parts - just additional spacer on the non-drive side and a wheel re-dish).
It has a standard HG MTB freehub.

What I am aiming for, is a 148 boost HG hub

So, questions:

  1. If I bought a boost Pro 4 hub, would the end caps from the pro2 evo (142x12) fit to make the pro 4 148x12?
  2. Will the HG freehub off the pro2 evo, fit the pro4?

I have looked on the hope assembly diagrams and except for (..maybe..) the NDS spacer it looks like the part numbers are all different which suggests this won't work

...but does anyone know otherwise?

Freehub: HUB536
DS end cap: HUB471
NDS end cap: HUB463N

Freehub: HUB520
DS end cap: HUB462
NDS end cap: HUB463

Thanks

Is your existing hub a pro 2 Evo or pro 2 Evo 40t?

Thanks....
Hmmm pro2 Evo.... I think.

What does the 40t refer to?

The freehub ratchet. If it's a 40t then it'll be marked on the hub shell. The 40t freehub is more like the pro4 iirc.

See pictures on this link. The 40t is under the O of EVO https://conseilvelo.wordpress.com/2015/11/03/hope-hub-and-body-cassette-11-speed-compatible/

Basically I think if you have a 40tb then the freehub body is the same. End caps I don't think can be shared on the rear. If you have the older non 40t version then I don't think anything can be shared. The flange dimensions of the pro 4 are also different which may need different spokes.

Non 40t Evo parts can be retro fitted to an original pro 2 shell with a swap to the Evo main bearing. If you don't use the old bits drop me a message as I may be interested in them to upgrade an older hub.

Cheers @nixie, I've checked and it's the older non 40t version - so it looks like I am into full new hub territory.

Also found this vid which seems fairly conclusive that swapping bits wont work -  though doesn't describe the 40t differences

I'll give you a shout re: hub bits once I've stripped the wheel down as it's unlikely I'll have any future use for most of the parts
